The ITEC 7400 course has been a challenging and insightful venture. I am walking away from this experience with so many valuable new skills as a technology coach. Prior to this experience, I had little knowledge of LoTi or TPACK. Now following this experience, I can confidently assess a project or unit’s LoTi level. Also, I feel like I have a good understanding of TPACK. I’m kind of surprised now that I think about it. Why isn’t the TPACK diagram shaped like a table with three legs? Legs one, two and three are the tech, content and pedagogical knowledge and the table top are all three in union. Also, I definitely feel like I have an eye for spotting engaged learning indicators now. There has been so much great information shared with us this semester. I can’t wait to put it to use.
On another note, something I didn’t necessarily anticipate was the amount of peer learning that would happen. I have to hand it to my classmates. Some of the ideas that were generated this semester were terrific. The collaborative aspects of this experience were enriching. I think everyone would agree that we learned just as much from each other and we are all stronger coaches for it.
Finally, I feel like this experience helped forward me along my path to be a stronger technology leader. I accomplished so much. I learned how to create authentic engaging learning experiences and learned about effective instructional design, proper coaching techniques, reaching higher levels of thinking with our instruction, evaluating digital resources, and so much more. The list goes on and on. Finally, It has been great to be assigned time to reflect. So often as educators we don’t take enough time for that. My final thought, this experience has been truly challenging and rewarding. I give ITEC 7400 a LoTi level somewhere between 5-6. :)
